One Lincoln resident goes above and beyond to spread Christmas cheer

For the past few years Chris Clanton from the Williamsburg Park Apartments has set up a mailbox at the apartment complex, so kids can send a letter straight to Santa Claus.

Chris then reads and then sends a letter back to the kids as Santa, bringing Christmas cheer to all of the kids.

“The apartment community is a little difficult especially for children so I’m trying to bring the community together, and you know I try to embrace the belief with Santa and Christmas and what better way to do that than to be Santa,” Chris Clanton said, “it’s great! I enjoy seeing the smiles and just the belief in the children.”

Chris’s love for Christmas started out as a little boy in Texas, where every year he and his father would decorate their home to the extreme, by building big Christmas decoration like a 15-foot tall dinosaur in their front yard.

So for Chris dressing up as Santa and sending letters to kids to spread Christmas cheer at his apartment complex is what Christmas is all about.

“I just want that one moment where everyone is happy,” Clanton said.
