UPDATE: Police identify 29-year-old man killed in overnight crash in east Lincoln

UPDATE: Police identified the victim of the crash as 29-year-old Najim Alnori. 

Officers responded to the crash scene at S 70th and Victory Park Drive just before midnight. 

Witnesses came upon a four-door sedan that had struck a tree on the east side of South 70th Street.

Police said the preliminary investigation showed the vehicle had been traveling northbound on South 70th Street before leaving the east side of the roadway and colliding with a tree.

A 37-year-old female was transported to a Lincoln hospital in stable condition.

The accident remains under investigation and no citations have been issued at this time. 

Lincoln Police have confirmed to Channel 8 Eyewitness News that one person has died in a car vs. tree crash near 70 & L St.

The crash happened a little before midnight.

There were two people in the car, one person was transported to the hospital, but it’s unclear how severe their injuries are.

Lincoln Police and Lincoln Fire and Rescue remain on the scene, and ask that you avoid the area.
