Open Harvest Co-op’s “Cheese Madness” promises a Gouda time

While the March Madness competition heats up on the basketball court, the battle for favorite cheese will be on at the Open Harvest Co-op Grocery with their 3rd Annual Cheese Madness Tournament.

Sixteen specialty cheeses, including a few local selections, will compete head-to-head in a taste test contest to determine the victorious Big Cheese!

Anyone can participate in the contest by filling out and submitting a bracket before March 1st. Starting March 2nd, in-store sampling and voting begins.

The person with the bracket that most closely matches the results will win several hunks of the Final Four cheeses and two tickets to the upcoming Beer + Cheese event, co-hosted by Zipline Brewing Co., on April 7th.

To enter the contest, fill out a bracket with your picks for the winning cheese in each round. Brackets are available in-store or online.

Submit your completed bracket online or drop the forms off at Open Harvest on 16 & South St. by March 1st.

Then comes the best part – the sampling! Stop in at Open Harvest to taste the battling cheeses and vote for your favorite.

The cheese sampling will take place throughout the month – with the Championship Round taking place March 30th and 31st.

The person whose bracket is closest to the actual results wins the “Big Cheese Prize”, with prizes for 2nd and 3rd places.  In the event of multiple matching entries, one will be chosen at random.

A winner will be announced in early April!
