LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Over 100 students took part Wednesday in the Greater Than One Summit in Lincoln.

Lincoln Public Schools students met with peers from other school districts, including Omaha, Elkhorn and Bellevue.

The goal is to bring students together to elevate their voices, develop leadership skills, network and promote equity.

Peter Ferguson, LPS’s coordinator of inclusion and scholar development, said the event helps students prepare to go out into a global economy.

“You don’t want that first time to be when they get a job because then you’re trying to figure out life, finances and why relationships actually matter,” he said.
