LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Deputies seized over 2 pounds of cocaine Sunday during a traffic stop in rural Fillmore County, the sheriff’s office says.

Around noon, a deputy pulled over a vehicle for an equipment violation at Highway 81 and County Road H, just north of Geneva.

During the traffic stop, the deputy became “increasingly suspicious” that the driver and passenger were involved in “criminal activity,” the sheriff’s office said.

The deputy was granted consent to search the vehicle and found 2.2 pounds of cocaine hidden inside a spare tire, according to the sheriff’s office.

The driver — 24-year-old Samir Al-Sawami — and the passenger — 24-year-old Dustin Huynh — were both taken into custody.

The men, who are both from Lincoln, were booked into the Fillmore County Jail.
