Over 4,000 LES customers lose power after storms roll through Lincoln
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Lincoln Electric System reported over 4,000 power outages early Tuesday morning across the capital city.
Several outages were reported near the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s East Campus and Nebraska Wesleyan University.
In a post to X, formerly Twitter, LES said crews are aware of “multiple outages” in Lincoln. There are currently 275 customers without power.
LES posted an update around 7 a.m., saying that the remaining outages have “significant” tree damage and could take longer to fix.

The storm rolled into town around midnight, bringing along strong winds, flash flooding and a report of a tornado about 4 miles southeast of Pioneers Park.
Central Lancaster County, including south Lincoln, was under a tornado warning until 12:15 a.m.
