Over $45,000 in gold, Thai currency stolen from Grand Island home

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Over $45,000 in gold and Thai currency were stolen Wednesday from a home in Grand Island, police say.

The theft was reported around 8 p.m. at a home near Old Potash Highway and Engleman Road.

The residents discovered their home had been “ransacked,” police said.  They also noticed a safe had been broken into.

Police said $23,000 in gold and $24,000 in Thai currency were taken from the home.

An investigation is ongoing.
