Overnight storms possible; cooler week ahead

Storms across eastern Nebraska largely we seen sliding just to the east of Lincoln, between here and Omaha. We’ll see more cloud cover with this activity, before scattered chances overnight and early Monday. Overall, expecting cooler weather on Monday.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for western Nebraska through midnight MDT. Wind gusts up to 75 mph and large hail (up to 2.5”) are the primary threats through this area initially tonight.

Klkn Svr Watch

Storms overnight are most likely within northern and northwestern Nebraska. Storms will likely be strong to severe early on, threatening areas with large hail, damaging winds and an isolated tornado as possibilities. Storms will be less of a threat as they continue east Monday morning.

The current rundown how Sunday could look based on model trends. Widespread rain looks likely, with limited scattered storms possible through eastern Nebraska following storms seen from the afternoon into the evening Sunday. We’ll be keeping an eye on things overnight.

Sunday Play By Play

On Monday, temperatures will be cooler with partly sunny skies and gradual clearing. The pattern as it stands will promote almost nightly storm chances. We’ve scaled back on temperatures with cloud cover and overnight and early rain chances likely keeping us cooler in the afternoons.
