Lincoln Police say this white SUV approached a 15–year–old girl while she was walking near 19th and A Streets, back in May.

Officials say the suspect asked the teen to get in his car, when she said no, he followed her into an alley and asked again.

The teen was able to get away unharmed, but many parents are worried.

"Definitely scared. We should be able to walk around our neighborhood and feel safe," said Lisa Kurtz, a concerned parent.

Another cause of worry for many parents– Monday’s attempted kidnapping.

In this case a 14–year–old girl was walking near 31st and Old Cheney when she was approached by a man in a black sedan.

"The man exited the car, grabbed the victims arm, and tried to pull her towards the car. The victim kicked the man and ran away."

The man is described as a white male with white hair, and a stubby beard.

He was wearing a black sweatshirt, gray pants, and black Adidas shoes.

A similar man was described in an incident near 56th and Pine Lake Road last Saturday where an 11–year–old girl was approached by a man also driving a black sedan.

Lincoln Police say they’re investigating whether the cases are related.

LPD says it’s important to speak to your kids about these incidents.

"Speak to your children warn them about stranger danger. Common sense things like looking for an adult nearby who can help, yelling, running away," said officer Angela Sands.

Some parents are going even further and taking more precautions.

"The kids walking the dog around the block by themselves with the dog probably isn’t going to happen for awhile, I’ll definitely have to be with them," said parent Robyn Taylor.

Lincoln Police told me kidnappings are not common in the city.

There’s only been 16 recorded since 2013 and all of those have been custody disputes.

If you recognize that white SUV or have information about any of the incidents police are asking you to call them or crime stoppers.
