Part of I-80 in Lincoln to close for bridge work

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A part of Interstate 80 in Lincoln will close next week for bridge work, state transportation officials announced Monday.

The Nebraska Department of Transportation said westbound I-80 between the Interstate 180 and Milford interchanges will close at 8 p.m. on March 10.

Traffic will be detoured at the I-180 Interchange and routed west on N-34 to Matzke Highway before exiting onto I-80 at the Milford Interchange.

The detours are expected to be removed by 6 a.m. on March 11, according to officials.

Crews are placing bridge girders over I-80 on the Northwest 84th Street and Northwest 112th Street bridges.

At 8 p.m. on March 11, eastbound I-80 will close between the I-180 and Milford interchanges for bridge work.

Officials said drivers will be detoured at the Milford Interchange and can reenter I-80 at the I-180 Interchange.

The road is scheduled to be reopened by 6 a.m. on March 12.
