Part of Interstate 80 shut down after three semitrailers crash near York

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A part of Interstate 80 was shut down Monday night after three semitrailers crashed near York.

The York County Sheriff’s Office said the crash happened around 6:30 p.m. on eastbound I-80, just south of York.

A semitrailer was stopped on the shoulder due to a mechanical problem when it was struck from behind by a cattle hauler.

The cattle hauler then hit another semi that was passing by, according to the sheriff’s office.

When deputies arrived at the scene, cattle were scattered along I-80.  No one was injured.

Eastbound I-80 between Bradshaw and Waco was shut down for several hours as crews gathered the escaped cattle and investigated the crash.
