Parts of four major Lincoln streets to close in coming days

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — City officials announced several upcoming street closures Wednesday.

On Saturday, Westbound O Street will be shut down between 10th and 11th streets from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The closure is due to private crane work, according to the Lincoln Transportation and Utilities Department.

Then on Monday, eastbound Holdrege Street will close from 84th to 98th streets for water line installation.

The project is expected to be last until January, but LTU said access to homes and businesses in the area will be maintained.

Also on Monday, another stretch of Normal Boulevard will shut down for the next phase of the Lincoln on the Move project there.

Eastbound Normal will close between 56th and 62nd streets and is expected to reopen by the end of July.

On Tuesday, 56th Street will shut down from Calvert Street to Pioneers Boulevard for water line work by a private company.

It will reopen 6 p.m. Wednesday.

Residents in the area will still be able to get to their homes, LTU said.
