Patchy frost, fog early but beautiful both Monday and Tuesday
In case you missed it, six tornadoes were confirmed across eastern Nebraska and southwest Iowa from storms last Thursday. You can read more about those findings by the National Weather Service of Omaha here.
It was splendid to get some rain Easter Sunday across southeast Nebraska. Some of those rainfall amounts can be found below.
Here’s how Lincoln is faring so far for the month of April and for the entire year so far (through April 20, 2025).
Clearing skies and recent moisture will lead to possible frost and patchy fog Monday morning. A Frost Advisory is in effect until 8 a.m. Monday morning for Lincoln and areas west.
Eventually we warm up for a beautiful day Monday. There won’t be much wind, and there will be plenty of sun returning. In fact, both Monday and Tuesday will be close to top-10 days!
Out west there will be more wind this afternoon, increasing fire danger for central and western Nebraska. A Red Flag Warning is in place Monday afternoon through the evening hours for those shaded in the reddish pink color below.
There’s a small chance of an isolated shower and thunderstorm mainly up toward northeast Nebraska tonight as a front passes through. Winds may be turn out to be a bit gusty later tonight with that feature.
Several days this week have rain chances in the forecast, especially Wednesday through the upcoming weekend.
Wednesday already has southwest Nebraska highlighted for a Marginal (Level 1 of 5) risk for severe weather.
An early “heads up” to that part of the state as strong to marginally severe storms will be possible Wednesday evening and night with the main threats of hail and gusty winds.
