Police ID pedestrian killed in northeast Lincoln crash
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A pedestrian was killed Thursday night in a crash in northeast Lincoln, police say.
A car struck the pedestrian — 43-year-old Monica Salazar — about 8 p.m. on Leighton Avenue near 44th Street.
Salazar was taken to a hospital, where she was later pronounced dead, according to the Lincoln Police Department.

She was not in a crosswalk, police said.
Eastbound Leighton was closed at 41st Street as police investigated, but the road has since reopened.
Police said Friday that the driver has not been cited.
