Pedestrian hit by car in overnight accident

One man is in the hospital after being hit by a car Wednesday night.
According to Lincoln Police, it happened at the intersection of 21 & K Street around 10:00 p.m.
The victim, a 46-year-old male, was crossing K Street, but had a “Don’t Walk” signal.
A car traveling east had a green light and did not see the pedestrian until the last minute.
The car tried to swerve but was unable to miss the man, whose head hit the windshield, causing a serious head injury.
The driver stayed at the scene until medical crews arrived, and was not cited.
The pedestrian remains in the hospital in serious but non-life threatening condition.
