People City Mission Toss Boxes

Trash has recently become a problem in the people city mission’s toss boxes.

Not just trash, but guns as well.

Pastor tom says mission staff found a rusted out shotgun, a bb gun and a pellet gun in one toss box.

The guns were reported to lincoln police right away.

While it’s the first time a gun has been found in one… The missio says they’ve seen an uptick in people using toss boxes as garbage bins which is frustrating.

"There are a group of people out there that seem to want to just use it as a dump site and that’s what I think these guns were.  They were just throwing stuff away that doesn’t work,” said Tom Barder pastor of the people’s city mission.

Pastor Tom says they’re so thankful to be in a supportive community.

But they’re afraid if people continue dumping trash in their toss boxes.

More stores will have them removed from their parking lots.
