Phase 2A starts today, more clinics scheduled

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department (LLCHD) reports 56 new cases of COVID-19. This brings the community total to 29,204.

The death toll remains at 224.

More than 16,200 people have recovered from the virus, with more than 140,000 vaccines administered. Last week alone, about 18,200 shots were given over three mass vaccination clinics.

The weekly positivity rate is currently unavailable.

Nebraska officially moves into Phase 2A today, which includes residents between the ages of 50 and 64.

LLCHD is hosting two more mass vaccination clinics this week. The first is on Thursday at Pinnacle Bank Arena (PBA) for residents ages 60 and older to get their first dose of the vaccine. The second is on Friday at PBA for residents 70 years or older to get their second dose.
