Phillip’s Lincoln Lights helping spotlight spooky Halloween displays
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Spooky season is shining bright in the Capitol City.
One Lincoln man is helping neighbors get into the Halloween spirit – one display at a time.
Phillip’s Lincoln Lights, a local project that highlights some of the most creative holiday setups across Lincoln, is giving everyone an easy way to find the best decorations.
The mind behind the project, Phillip Wagoner, said it started as a way for his family to find houses that are decorated for the holidays.
But now, it has quickly grown into a well-known way to show off the best displays, with over 38,000 members on Facebook.
Wagoner said it’s a community effort – but the displays are more than decorations, they’re about bringing neighbors together.
“It’s humbling. I’m just glad I can do something that is free for a lot of people to go do with their family and a lot of people like displays,” he said. “A lot of people can get to go see it, it’s just very humbling.”
The project is holding a competition for the best Halloween displays, ranging from the best theme to the most creative.
Voting is open until the end of October.
Wagoner also plans to have a Christmas map posted in November.
