LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Officers were called to 20th and Cornhusker around 3 p.m. yesterday after a witness reported a green F150 had launched into the air and slammed into a pole.

Police say the driver, 21-year-old Carter Cole, tried running away but was arrested nearby.  We’re told he appeared to be intoxicated at the time.

Not long after catching him police were contacted by another man who reported Cole stole the pickup near 3200 North 20th and that the key had been left inside.

Police tell us video shows Cole striking 2 vehicles as well as a trailer before the final crash just a couple of blocks away.

Damage to the pickup is an estimated $7,000.  No word on how much the other collisions might cost to fix.

Cole had some minor injuries but should recover.
