LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A little more than 6,000 students from all across Nebraska descended upon Lincoln for the annual Future Farmers of America convention.

After a two-year hiatus, the event is back in-person at Pinnacle Bank Arena.

The convention allows for students to explore Lincoln and have forums with fellow FFA members.

Most importantly, the students showcase what they learned over the year regarding agriculture.

Emma Kuss, Nebraska FFA Secretary, said it is important that young Nebraskans get introduced to FFA so they stay in the agriculture industry.

“In Nebraska, given that agriculture is one of the top industries that we have, it’s super important that we develop the members into people who want to continue their time in agriculture and it’s really important for them to get to show off their hard work and skills that they’ve been practicing all year,” said Kuss.

FFA students will receive State Degrees at the Star Awards Ceremony on Friday, the last day of the convention.
