Pinnacle Bank signed a Naming Rights Deal with the Nebraska State Fair Friday morning. The newly formed alliance will help with the upkeep of the fair's facilities.
Pinnacle Bank officials said the State Fair and its partner, Fonner Park, will be given a total of $600,000 over the course of ten years to use not only during fair season, but also for events throughout the year.
“This is a chance to give back to the Grand Island community and the agriculture industry across the state,” Mark Hesser, Pinnacle Bank President said.
State Fair officials said the fair will have a new midway this year, complete with a new set of rides and games. Officials also said it will be located differently than in previous years so that it is easier to access.
“It's a great time for families,” Joseph McDermott, State Fair Exec. Director said. “I would encourage all of the state, Lincoln and Omaha, to make the trip to Grand Island. I think they'll find it's well worth their effort.”
There is also a new exhibition center in the works that should be compete by April. Officials said since the fair relocated from Lincoln to Grand Island, attendance has increased, and they believe the new alliance with Pinnacle Bank can only help the fair continue to grow and evolve.
“Things just look great out here and we'll just continue to work hard to make sure that we're successful,” McDermott said.
The State Fair will begin August 23rd in Grand Island and will run until September 2nd.
