Pius X enters the early stages of preparing for vaccinations
The big questions of who, what, when and where are still to be determined but staff is excited for what's to come.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) —With the first round of COVID–19 vaccinations rolling out Monday, excitement is high and the question of what comes next is on everyone’s mind, including those in the education system.
While things are still in the very early stages of moving to the 1B group, which includes teachers, Pius X is working with the health department to figure out the details.
Right now, Nebraska is looking at February being the start of that phase 1B group.
“The fact that this is here, I really, I thought, no outside chance, maybe next summer. So I’m very, very excited about where we’re at,” said Father James Meyesenburg, the chief administrative officer with Pius X.
As for any hesitation from staff or if the school would require the vaccine, Father Meyesenburg said he doesn’t see that as a concern.
“I don’t believe that we would require it unless there is some, you know, push from the government or such. Or, you know, even our own diocese to say that you should. I feel like, you know, off the top of my head, I would guess almost 100% of our employees would probably do it anyway,” the Father said.
He says the staff is honored to be in the second group of individuals receiving the vaccine. While there’s still a number of questions when it comes to who will get vaccinated first but Father Meyesenburg said they know the health department is working diligently.
