"We liked the F street community, I grew up around here so we like coming to hang out and to trick or treat, INSIDE!" Julie Fischer, parent of a princess, said.
Trick or treating indoors is becoming more popular! Halloween is Saturday but some are celebrating early. More than 250 people came through the F Street Community Center for a fun, spooky evening. Little ghosts and goblins took over the gym hoping for a treat, or else!
“Trick or Treat!”
Kids dressed up in their best Mike Wizowski and Rock Star costumes, “Track” or Treating in the F Street Community Center Friday night. Skeletons and princesses got to walk the track and get some snacks! The event had carnival games for families to play, and treats galore for the kids. Organizers say this is a way for kids to stay safe and have some fun this Halloween.
“We always want to serve all people but in our neighborhood it’s especially important that kids have opportunities and so that’s what we want to do tonight,” Doug Kasparek, Director of the F Street Community Center, said.
“My daughter wanted to come get candy the day before Halloween you know how kids are, always wanting to get candy as soon as possible. It’s a great place to get indoors outside its cold, rainy as well as this is a safe place to just run around and have fun!” Jerry Vaughn-Taylor, parent of a pink skeleton, said.
I asked one spooky young lady- “What’s your favorite part about tonight?” “GETTING CANDY!” Kyandrah “Kiki” Chase, said.
All the kids I talked to say they had a blast and hope Halloween night is even better. The F Street Community Center plans on hosting this ghoulish event next year as well.
If you’re looking for a safe, warm place to trick or treat, look no further! Here’s a list to help you plan your route:
