Platte River walking bridge closed due to debris build-up

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission on Monday announced the Lied Platte River Bridge is closed until further notice.
The Lied Bridge is a converted rail-to-trail line that connects Lincoln and Omaha over the Platte River.
It’s located between South Bend and Platte River State Park, and is part of the MoPac Trail.
The closure is due to trees being caught up in the base of the trail from past rains and high water, the Parks Commission said in a press release.
Officials said crews will be working to clear the debris until mid-February.
