Police: 69-year-old woman scammed out of $32,000

A 69-year-old woman was scammed out of tens of thousands of dollars, according to Lincoln Police.
LPD says the victim told officers she had been in an online relationship with a man after her husband passed away.
The man, who identified himself as Paul Gregerson, claimed to be from Nigeria, and communicated with the victim for over two years.
During that time, the man convinced the victim to send him $32,000 for a variety of reasons, including claims that he needed a double kidney transplant.
Police say a person claiming to be ‘Paul’s friend’ then started talking to the victim, telling her that Paul had bought her a home and a van, and that he needed money to get to Nebraska so that they could get married.
Police do not have any suspects at this time, and say scams like this are very common.
