Police arrest Lincoln man after fleeing on foot

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Saturday, just after midnight, Lincoln Police were on bicycle patrol in the are of 7th and Q Streets when they saw a man walking from the Railyard Entertainment Area with an alcoholic beverage in hand.

The man took several drinks from the cup while walking. When officers contacted him, he poured the drink out and began running southbound. Officers were able to catch him after he lost his footing and fell to the ground. However, he resisted officers. Following a struggle, he was placed into custody.

Officers located a loaded handgun and 23.2 grams of cocaine, a 2,300 dollar street value, in the pocket of his jeans. Officers also located over a thousand dollars in cash in his pants, as well. Ezell Rios Jr., a 30-year-old Lincoln man, was arrested for possession of cocaine with intent to deliver, possession of a firearm during a drug violation, tamper with physical evidence, possessing money while violating a drug law, carrying a concealed weapon, obstructing government operations, resisting arrest, and consuming in public.
