Police ID man who died after crashing into west Lincoln creek

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Police have identified the man who died late Monday night after crashing into a west Lincoln creek.

The crash happened around 10:20 p.m. on South Folsom Street near West Van Dorn Street.

Police said a pickup truck, driven by 31-year-old Max Wonka of Lincoln, left the road, rolled into a ditch and ended up in Haines Branch.

Wonka was pronounced dead at the scene.  No one else was in the pickup.

The road was shutdown for several hours as LPD investigated the crash.
