Police identify man killed after crashing into cow, tree in Saunders County

Authorities identified the man as 48-year-0ld Terel Johnson of Lincoln.

Around 5:15 a.m.  Friday, deputies were called to a single-vehicle crash on Highway 79 near County Road E, just north of Valparaiso.

After an investigation, the sheriff’s office discovered that the driver was heading north on Highway 79 when they struck a cow in the road.

The vehicle then left the road and crashed into a tree, according to the sheriff’s office.

Johnson was later pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call the Saunders County Sheriff’s Office at 402-443-1000.
