Police identify victim in deadly east Lincoln crash

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Police have identified the man who was killed in a crash in east Lincoln early Saturday morning.

The two-vehicle crash happened around 4:10 a.m. at the intersection of 56th and A Streets.

A Hyundai Genesis was heading south on 56th Street when it struck a westbound Kia Soul, police said Monday.

The driver of the Hyundai, 29-year-old Alexis Carayorgopol, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Kia, a 35-year-old man, was taken to a hospital.  The extent of his injuries is unknown.

Police think alcohol was a factor in the crash, which is still under investigation.

As of Monday, no citations have been issued, according to police.
