Police investigating late night robbery in northeast Lincoln

Lincoln Police say a man reported being robbed and assaulted late Monday night in northeast Lincoln. 

The 36-year-old victim said he was walking to a friends house in the 300 block of North Cotner Blvd around 11:45 p.m. when two men approached him and asked what was in the backpack he was carrying. The victim said he thought the men were joking at first, then confronted them after they called him a name. 

The men then began punching and kicking the victim, digging through his pockets and trying to take his backpack, police said. The victim suffered some minor injuries. 

The suspects ultimately made off with the man’s wallet. One of them was described as a white or Hispanic male in his 20s, with a medium build and dark clothing. The other was described as a black male in his 20s with a medium build and dark clothing. 

No arrests have been made and police continue to investigate.
