LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Two people broke into a north Lincoln bowling alley with a sledgehammer early Wednesday morning, police say.

Just before 4 a.m., officers were sent to Hollywood Bowl near North 48th and Vine streets on a report of glass breaking.

Surveillance video showed two people breaking into the bowling alley by throwing a small sledgehammer through a glass door, LPD said.  That caused about $1,000 in damage.

They then used the sledgehammer to hit a gaming machine “multiple times,” according to police.  Investigators estimate the duo caused $5,000 in damage to the machine.

The vandals were described as a man and a woman, both wearing dark clothing.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 402-441-6000 or Crime Stoppers at 402-475-3600.
