Possible gunshots ring out in east Lincoln; police investigating

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The Lincoln Police Department is investigating the report of multiple gunshots heard in east Lincoln.

Just after 2 a.m. Friday, officers responded to an apartment complex near 63rd and Holdrege streets.

When officers arrived, a 20-year-old man told police that he and his roommate had seen two-to-three men in ski masks by his vehicle.

The 20-year-old and his roommate then went outside to confront the suspects, but they got into a dark-colored sedan and drove off.

According to LPD, the vehicle then stopped about a block away and both roommates started running as they heard two to three gunshots behind them.

LPD said no one was injured, no damage was seen and no shell casings were found.
