Police-involved shooting injures two officers

LINCOLN–The Lincoln Police Department has now confirmed that one man is dead and two police officers were injured in a shooting Sunday night, in Lincoln.

It happened near 73rd and Adams Street around 9 p.m.

LPD tweeted around 10 p.m. that officers were searching for two people, who had fled the scene of a traffic stop.

Captain Bob Farber has confirmed one male officer was shot and one female officer was physically assaulted, but they suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Farber also confirmed one man is dead, and at least two suspects are in custody.

The intersection of 73rd and Adams is expected to be blocked off until sometime Monday morning.

LPD tells us the community is safe, but some officers are still on scene to protect the area.
