Lincoln Police said missing 11-year-old girl has been ‘returned safely home’

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — UPDATE (6:11 p.m.) The Lincoln Police Department said the missing 11-year-old girl was found safe.
“The missing person has been located and has been returned safely home,” LPD said in an update.
ORIGINAL ARTICLE: The Lincoln Police Department is asking for the public’s help in finding a missing girl.
LPD said 11-year-old Simone Payne was last seen on Monday around 2:15 p.m. near 20th Street and Harrison Avenue.
Simone was last seen wearing a light purple jacket, a white shirt, blue jeans and grey boots, as shown in the picture.
LPD said she is 4-foot-6, 65 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.
Simone ran from her caregiver and is possibly in possession of a scooter, according to LPD.
