Police make arrest in Omaha shooting that left seven wounded
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Police arrested a 31-year-old man Monday in an Omaha shooting that wounded seven people over the weekend.
Maurice Brown, who was one of the people shot, was arrested on suspicion of a raft of charges:
- Attempted first-degree assault
- Six counts of second-degree assault
- Possession of a firearm by a prohibited person
- Seven counts of use of a firearm to commit a felony

The shooting happened early Saturday morning in the parking lot of Kelly’s Liquor near 30th and Pinkney streets, according to the Omaha Police Department.
Police said officers heard multiple gunshots in the area and arrived to find a large crowd leaving the scene.
Four people with gunshot wounds went to Immanuel Hospital in a private vehicle.
Two others showed up at Creighton University Medical Center with gunshot wounds, according to OPD.
Just minutes after the shooting, police responded to a crash about a mile away.
Investigators determined that the driver was shot while fleeing the shooting and eventually lost control of the vehicle.
Police said none of the injuries were life-threatening.
The investigation is ongoing.
