Police make third arrest in armed robbery at Holmes Lake in Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A third man involved in an armed robbery last month at Holmes Lake was arrested on Friday night.
Around 7:30 p.m., 21-year-old Adonis Jones was taken into custody near Ninth and Washington streets after he tried running away from authorities.
He was arrested on suspicion of robbery, felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a stolen firearm and use of a weapon to commit a felony.
Jones is the third person to be arrested in the investigation, following the arrests of 18-year-old Anania Ruba and a 17-year-old boy.
The robbery happened on the evening of June 22 on the south shore of Holmes Lake.
A 20-year-old man from Crete and a 21-year-old man from Papillion told police that they were robbed at gunpoint by three males.
The robbers stole a gun, a phone, cash and keys from the 21-year-old, according to LPD.
They also took the 20-year-old’s phone, police said.
