Police provide more details in south Lincoln crash that seriously injured one

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Police have provided more details on a two-vehicle crash at a south Lincoln intersection on Friday.

The crash happened just after 4 p.m. at 40th Street and Old Cheney Road.

Police said a Ford F-150 was heading north through the intersection when it hit a Hyundai Elantra turning left onto Old Cheney Road.

The pickup left the road and hit a fire hydrant.

The driver of the sedan, a 32-year-old Lincoln woman, was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

The driver of the pickup, a 79-year-old Trenton woman, was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.

Police said she was in critical but stable condition as of Sunday.

Both vehicles were totaled in the crash.  LPD said drugs and alcohol were not factors in the crash.
