UPDATE: Police respond to shooting in northwest Lincoln

Lincoln Police responded to reports of gunshots Friday around 9 p.m. in the area of Northwest 20th and West Q.

While talking to witnesses, Captain Todd Kocian tells Channel 8 News that a 37 year old male approached officers and indicated he had been shot. 

Police say the victim claims he was robbed by two males. 

When police arrived on scene, they found shell casings and a small amount of blood on the ground.

The man was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries. 

Police say there is no ongoing threat to the public and the suspects have not been contacted yet.
