Driver fled after crashing into sign at Lincoln Southwest, police say

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Officers had to search for the driver of a pickup that crashed Wednesday at Lincoln Southwest High School.

This all started just after 5:20 a.m.

Police said the driver was going west on Pine Lake Road when he went over the curb and landed on the school’s sign.

The driver ran away, police said, prompting a search.

Channel 8’s crew on scene saw several police vehicles parked on campus and officers using a K9.

Police later found the driver, who was injured, at a hospital.

Charges are pending, according to police.
