Police searching for trespasser involved in Grand Island hit-and-run crash

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man evaded arrest Wednesday after illegally camping on a private property in Grand Island, police say.

Around 5:30 p.m., officers found Don Casey Casares camping on the property near Blaine Street and Highway 34.

Officers tried speaking with Casares, who refused to get out of his vehicle, police said.

He then drove past officers and hit the property owner’s pickup truck as he went down the driveway.

Police are searching for Casares, and a warrant for his arrest has been requested.
