LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Police are searching for two men who were trespassing earlier this month at a dorm on the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s East Campus.

On Sept. 6 around 6:40 p.m., multiple students at the dorm reported that two men were knocking on their doors and pretending to be residential assistants.

The two men told the students they needed to go into their room for a room check, according to police.

A real residential assistant was nearby, heard the commotion and confronted the men.  They took off in a white Chevy pickup truck with a sticker on the back window.

Police are also seeking a thief who stole a Hyundai Elantra near 84th and Holdrege streets on Sept. 12.

The vehicle was stolen overnight, and investigators think it was stolen as part of the “Kia Boyz” social media trend.

Investigators think the thief arrived in a dark-colored Jeep Grand Cherokee with a couple of passengers.

Anyone with information on either case is asked to call police at 402-441-6000 or Crime Stoppers at 402-475-3600.
