Police arrest man wanted in Columbus stabbing

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Columbus Police Department arrested a man Thursday in connection with a stabbing.

Just before 9 a.m., officers were sent to a home near Highway 81 and Eighth Street.

When they arrived, they found a person who had been stabbed.  They were taken to a hospital with unknown injuries.

The suspect, Ricardo Arriaga Alvarez, was at large for a few hours.

Police shared photos of him in a post on Facebook.

About 2:30 p.m., police said Alvarez was in custody.
