Police: Woman on drugs sticks arm in Lincoln fire hydrant, claims she was born in 1800s

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A woman was arrested in Lincoln early Monday morning after officers found her with her arm jammed in a fire hydrant.

Casaundra Bookout, 31, was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and booked into the Lancaster County Jail.

Just before 12:30 a.m., Lincoln Police officers saw Bookout at the intersection of 25th and P streets with her entire forearm inside a fire hydrant.

When officers walked up to her, it was “immediately apparent” that she was on drugs, according to the arrest affidavit.

LPD said nearly every statement that Bookout made did not make any sense.

According to the affidavit, some of those statements included that items inside her uterus were igniting.

Bookout also said she was born in the 1800s, according to LPD.

Police said she continuously yelled at people were not there and was extremely shaky and unsteady on her feet.

According to the affidavit, Bookout told officers she drank battery acid earlier in the day.

Officers said the rubber portions of the fire hydrant were broken beyond repair and each cap was completely screwed off, exposing every opening to the hydrant.

While Bookout was talking with the officers, police said she gave them a piece of masking tape from her bra.

According to the affidavit, the tape had a white residue on it, which tested positive for methamphetamine.
