Thursday, Gov. Pete Ricketts will sign an executive order aimed at pushing back on President Biden's 30 x 30 plan. The goal of the plan is to conserve 30% of the nation's land by 2030. The plan is on a voluntary basis but Gov. Ricketts has described it as a land grab since he says it would take the size of nine Nebraska’s to fulfill that 30%.
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Governor Pete Ricketts plans to sign an executive order opposing President Biden’s 30×30 plan this Thursday.
Gov. Ricketts has been traveling around rural Nebraska to talk directly with farmers and ranchers about the plan and why he stands against it.
The 30×30 plan is one of the Biden Administration’s new goals, to conserve 30% of the nation’s land and waters by 2030.
Rickett’s signing ceremony will be held at 1:30 pm.
