Ponca Tribe’s Prairie Flower Casino to open Nov. 1

The Ponca Tribe’s Prairie Flower Casino in Carter Lake is set to open soon. 

According to a news release, the casino will have a ribbon cutting ceremony at 9:00 a.m. on November 1 and will officially open to the public three hours later at noon. 

The 9,500 square foot building is located near Omaha, and will feature 200 slot-style machines but no table games when it first opens. 

It will also have a full-service bar and snack bar. 

The casino will be open 24 hours a day. 

Proceeds from the casino will go the Carter Lake community and service programs for continuing education, land preservation and cultural arts for tribal citizens.
