Portion of Holdrege Street near East Campus to temporarily close Tuesday

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Beginning Tuesday morning at 8 a.m., a portion of Holdrege Street between 29th and 33rd streets will be closed until 3 p.m. for tree removal.
While work is being completed, StarTran bus stops for routes 24-Holdrege, 25-Vine and 42-Bethany will be closed. Residents in the area will still have access to homes and sidewalks.
The Lincoln Transportation and Utilities Department suggests that drivers take 27th Street to Vine Street to 33rd Street to Holdrege Street as a detour.
Dismissal at Clinton Elementary School may be affected. Officials urge travelers to use 29th street for access to the school.
Digital signs will alert traffic to upcoming work and closures. Travelers are encouraged to seek an alternate route and exercise caution around the work zone.
