Portion of several Lincoln streets set to close for UNL homecoming, pavement repairs

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The Lincoln Transportation and Utilities Department announced the partial closure of several Lincoln streets.

On Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., the homecoming parade at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln will close the following streets:

  • 12th, 13th and 14th streets between R and Q streets
  • 14th Street between Vine Street and Avery Avenue
  • 16th Street between Vine and Q streets
  • R Street between 12th and 16th streets
  • Vine Street between 14th and 16th streets

StarTran routes 22-NIC City, 24-Holdrege, 25-Vine, 27-North 27th, 42-Bethany and 49-University Place will be detoured during the event.

On Saturday, A Street between Gramercy Road and 56th Street will close from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. for Lincoln Electric System utility work.

Starting Monday, Cotner Boulevard between Vine and 66th streets will close for pavement repairs.

That work is expected to be completed by Oct. 17.

Access to homes in the area will be maintained, according to LTU.
