LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN)- Officials with Lincoln Transportation and Utilities says several portions of the two-phase improvement project in the area of South 40th Street from Yankee Hill to Rokeby roads are now open.

These openings are part of phase one of the project:

  • The South 40th Street and Yankee Hill Road intersection
  • Yankee Hill Road to Wilderness Hills Boulevard
  • Newly constructed right turn lanes from Yankee Hill Road onto South 40th Street for north and southbound traffic

City officials say phase two of the project is expected to be completed in summer 2024. The Wilderness Hills Boulevard roundabout is also open for north, west, and eastbound travel. Southbound travel is only available from Yankee Hill Road to Wilderness Hills Boulevard, where phase two construction continues.
