Possible hate symbol alarms Lincoln neighborhood

Rock Sita and his family have lived in the area of 16th and Washington streets for years.
Over the past few months, one of their neighbors began displaying a confederate flag through a window in their home.
What came next was a symbol, cut into the front lawn. Sita is wondering what it all means.
“They planted a flag, and now they have planted a symbol, and what will happen next? As a preventative measure, I want people to look at the message, what kind of message is it?”
The symbols have a resemblance to the SS Bolt, a white supremacist symbol from the Nazi–era.
The SS Bolts are classified as a hate symbol by the anti–defamation league.
Neighbors said they were not surprised to hear the comparison, saying the neighborhood has developed a bad reputation as of late.
“We like the neighborhood, we have a peace here. We don’t fight. We have a lovely neighborhood but the problem is we don’t communicate with one another,” said Sita.
It should be noted that this is protected speech under the first amendment of the constitution, even if it does convey a hateful or racist meaning.
Sita and his family just want to know what the meaning behind the message was.
“We are not really scared because, we don’t bother people, we are nice people. I think those people are nice people like us too. Since we lived here for four years we have never had any problems except for that,” said Sita.
Several attempts were made to make contact with the homeowners, but they received no response.
The Lincoln police department says, at this time, it has not received an official complaint about the yard.
