There are reports of a tornado touching down in southwest Lincoln.  Several viewers have posted pictures and videos of the possible tornado on our KLKN Facebook and Twitter pages.  Fortunately, no injuries have been reported.  There is a roof that was blown off of the Jet Splash car wash that caused a portion of highway 2 near 14th street to be closed for a few hours.  Lincoln Police say that the Dairy Sweet near Lee’s Chicken on Van Dorn has been destroyed.  People dining at Lee’s Chicken had to take shelter as the storm knocked out windows but everyone is okay.  The Frontier Harley-Davidson near NW 40th and West O Streets suffered damage as well.  LES says there are 6300 customers without power all over Lincoln.  Marble to golf-ball sized hail also fell across the regional.  Numerous street lights are out so be careful and consider all intersections four-way stops.   We are still getting damage reports and we’ll bring you the latest information as it becomes available.
